Wir möchten zwei Präzisierungen in Bezug auf die Veranstaltung mit dem Psychoanalytiker Stijn Vanheule aus Gent am 22./23. Januar mitteilen: Der Vortrag wird an diesem Datum bereits von 18h-20h stattfinden.

Stijn Vanheule wird in englischer Sprache unter dem Titel: „A Lacanian perspective on psychosis“ sprechen.

Der Besuch von Stijn Vanheule wird von der PsyBi in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Dr. Dorothea von Haebler von der Internationalen Psychoanalytischen Universität (IPU) organisiert. Sie richtet mit ihrer Arbeitsgruppe zur „Modifizierten psychodynamischen Psychotherapie der Psychosen“ den Vortrag am folgenden Donnerstag (23. Januar) von 10h-14h eine Arbeitssitzung mit ihm durch (s. auch dazu u. die Beschreibung). Auch diese Veranstaltung wird in englischer Sprache durchgeführt.

Stijn Vanheule, Ph.D., is psychoanalyst in private practice and member of New Lacanian School for Psychoanalysis and World Association of Psychoanalysis. He is professor of Psychoanalysis and Clinical Psychological and head of Department of Psychoanalysis at Ghent University (Belgium).

Conference: „A Lacanian perspective on psychosis“

In this theoretical lecture Stijn Vanheule will discuss Lacan’s view on psychosis, starting from the idea that psychosis makes up a structure. This means that it implies a specific way of living in language and of dealing with the drive (or so-called ‘jouissance’). Questions concerning identity (‘who am I?’) and intentionality (‘what does the other want’) tend to radically destabilize the experience of subjectivity and of reality. In Lacan’s view psychotic symptoms express the characteristic structure of psychosis, as well as particular issues that overwhelm the patient. Therefore these need to be studied in detail. Lacanian therapy in its turn aims at finding a subjective solution in dealing with these issues such that reality and subjectivity are again more organised.

Workshop: „Psychotherapy of Psychosis in Dialog“
(IPU, Donnerstag 23. Januar, 10h-14h)

The clinical workshop is going to take up the lecture for enabling a
dialogue between different psychoanalytic approaches on psychosis. In a
case report from Stijn Vanheule he is going to present a lacanian
perspective on conzeptualizing and treating psychosis, which will be
discussed from both perspectives: the lacanian and the "modified
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for people with psychosis".
